MUSIC FOR MOTION PICTURE

Richard LaBrooy was born in Melbourne in 1991. After completing a degree in Music Composition, he went on to work on the award-winning short film, Arrival, which went on to win many awards at various film festivals, including Best Score. Shortly after the success of Arrival, he continued on to work on the short film, Peacekeeper, recruiting Imogen Brough from The Voice, as the scores featured vocalist.

Richard then began working with the international music production company, The DA’s Office, while also working with Los Angeles based sample production retailer, Premier Sound Bank, for sound design.

Richard continued to produce music for commercials, for companies such as German car manufacturer, Audi, King Living and Princess Cruises.

Richard went on to score two more feature films. First with director Dominic Crisci on Thicker Than Water, a harsh drama about the fragility of family. The film also marked the acting debut of singer songwriter Pete Murray. Straight after, Richard dived into the dark and gritty crime drama, Watch The Sunset, directed by Tristan Barr and Michael Gosden. The film is set against an intimate and raw Australian backdrop.

He has provided additional music for prime time television series such as The Biggest Loser, Shark Tank, Family Food Fight, Date Night, The Hotplate, Driving Test, Ice Wars, Australia: The Story of Us, Murder Calls, Undressed, Travel Guides, Anh’s Brush With Fame, This Time Next Year, Testing Teachers, The Chef’s Line, Gordon Ramsey’s The F Word, and Marry Me Marry My Family.
